Riddell Fiddles is a music group based in Selkirk, Scottish Borders. The group’s main aim is the pursuit of musical fun and, to that end, the group ( now consisting of several bands of all ages \u00a0and musical genres) have travelled the world including Scotland and performed at a myriad of functions and festivals. The fiddlers are supported by a strong ‘boy band’ of guitars\/ double bass and percussion not to forget our lady on the keyboard and can lighten up every event.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Started in 2003 as a teaching group at a time when traditional musical opportunities were not so prevalent the group has persisted over the years and their website is know as a traditional music resource the world over.<\/p>\n

Projects such as the Cranston Fiddle ( a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe 2015) and various tours have raised the group’s profile.<\/p>\n

The group was nominated in the Digital Innovations category of the Arts and Business Scotland Awards for their partnership with local business ‘ Spectrum Sound and Light’.Sheila Sapkota, the group’s leader, was inducted into the Trad Music Hall of Fame in September 2015 for her services to traditional music.<\/p>\n
